Kidiverse
Terms of Use
What Kidiverse is, how to use it safely, and what we do and do not promise.
Version: 2.1 · Effective: October 10, 2026 · Last updated: October 10, 2026
What changed in version 2.1. These terms now mention the No hops setting, which turns every hop into a knee lift for a child who should not jump, and say what else Kidiverse keeps on your device besides the stars. Nothing else changed.
What changed in version 2.0. These terms now state clearly that Kidiverse is for learning and fun, not a sport, race or action game; set out the rules every game must follow, including no running, no fast movement, a cleared space and an adult watching; and make clear that the adult who lets a child play is responsible for following them. They also mention stars and playing on a TV.
These terms
These terms apply to the Kidiverse app, made by Nexoma Labs LLC. By letting a child use Kidiverse, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please delete the app.
What Kidiverse is
Kidiverse is a game in which a child plays by moving their body in front of a phone. The camera follows how they move, a drawn character copies them, and the world responds — clouds gather, the wind blows, comets fly, the ground shakes.
A child earns stars for the moves and challenges they do. Stars only ever go up; they are a reward, not a currency, and they cannot be bought, spent or exchanged for anything.
It is free. There is nothing to buy inside it, no subscription and no account to create. It is meant to be played with an adult nearby.
Kidiverse is not medical, and makes no measurement of your child
The My Body world teaches children about bodies in general — where the ribs are, what the heart does. It is educational and nothing more.
Kidiverse makes no medical, diagnostic, health or fitness claim of any kind. It does not measure breathing, heart rate, posture, calories, fitness or development, and nothing shown on screen is a statement about the particular child in front of the camera. Nothing in the app is a substitute for advice from a doctor or any other professional.
If you have any concern about your child’s health, or about whether active play is right for them, speak to a medical professional before they use Kidiverse.
What Kidiverse is for, and how it must be played
Kidiverse is made for learning and fun. It is not a sport, a race, an action game, a fitness programme or a competition, and you agree not to let it be played as one.
Every move in Kidiverse is meant to be made calmly, standing in one spot in front of the phone: marching on the spot, a small hop, a crouch, a reach, or a single step to the side. No world asks a child to run, race or hurry, and nothing is gained by moving faster.
These rules apply every time Kidiverse is played:
- No running. A child must never run while playing, whether towards the device, away from it or around the room.
- No fast or sudden movement. Moves are made slowly and carefully. Jumps are small hops on the spot, and arm movements are smooth, not wild swings. If your child should not jump at all, turn on No hops in Settings and every world asks for a knee lift instead.
- A clear, safe space. Before play, clear an open space of at least 2 metres (about 6 feet) around the child in every direction, with nothing to hit, trip over or fall onto, away from walls, doors, windows, stairs, glass, televisions, furniture, sharp corners, hot surfaces and anything overhead. Use a dry, flat floor that is not slippery.
- One player in the space. Keep other children and pets out of the play space while the game is running.
- Adult supervision, all the time. An adult must be in the room and watching for the whole time a child plays, ready to stop the game at once.
- Stop when needed. Stop play straight away if the child is tired, out of breath, dizzy or in pain, or if the game is being played unsafely. The stop button ends play at any time.
- A secure device. Set the device down where it cannot be knocked over or stepped on. It is meant to be propped up a few steps away, not held.
Playing safely explains each of these in more detail. Please read it before your child plays.
Your responsibility
You, as the parent, guardian or adult who lets a child use Kidiverse, are responsible for the space the child plays in, for supervising them, and for making sure the rules above are followed.
Active play carries some risk of falls, collisions and strain, as any physical play does, and that risk rises sharply if the rules above are not followed. You accept that risk when you let a child play. You agree that using Kidiverse in a way these terms or Playing safely warn against, including running, moving fast, playing in a space that has not been cleared, or playing without an adult watching, is misuse and is at your own risk.
Flashing lights
Some Kidiverse worlds contain lightning and other bright flashes.
A small number of people may have seizures when they see flashing lights or patterns, including people who have never had a seizure before. Kidiverse never shows more than three full-screen flashes a second, however fast or often your child moves. That limit is part of the game itself, not a setting.
If your child has epilepsy, has ever had a seizure, or you have any reason for concern, talk to a doctor before they use Kidiverse. Stop play straight away and consult a doctor if a child has dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitching, disorientation, any involuntary movement, or convulsions.
The camera, and everyone in the room
A drawn character copies your child. Their picture is never put on the screen.
The camera cannot tell one person from another, so anyone who walks into view can take over the character for a moment. It is your responsibility to decide who is in the room while Kidiverse is running.
Nothing the camera sees is recorded, saved or sent anywhere. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.
If you mirror Kidiverse to a television, the TV shows what the phone’s screen shows, which is the drawn character and never the camera picture. Mirroring is a feature of your phone, not of Kidiverse, and it is up to you to choose which screen it goes to.
What we promise, and what we do not
Kidiverse is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
The body tracking will not be perfect. Movement is recognised from a camera image, and lighting, clothing, distance, background and how a particular child moves all affect how well it works. Sometimes it will miss a movement your child made, and sometimes it will respond to one they did not mean. That is expected, not a fault.
We do not promise that Kidiverse will be uninterrupted, free of errors, compatible with every device, or that any particular feature will keep working in future versions.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Nexoma Labs LLC is not liable for injury, damage or loss arising from the use of Kidiverse. That includes, in particular, injury, damage or loss caused by running, moving fast or carelessly, playing in a space that has not been cleared, playing without an adult watching, or otherwise using Kidiverse in a way these terms or Playing safely warn against.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in them takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
Your data
Kidiverse sends nothing to us, so there is nothing for us to hold, lose or restore.
Kidiverse keeps three small things, on your device: the stars your child has earned, the No hops setting, and a short list of problems if part of the app stops working. They belong to you, stay on your device, and are yours to clear whenever you like, from Settings in the app. We cannot recover them if they are cleared, if the app is deleted, or if the device is lost or replaced. The Privacy Policy says exactly what each one holds.
Using Kidiverse properly
Kidiverse is for personal, non-commercial use by you and the children in your household.
Do not copy, sell, rent, redistribute or publish the app. Do not take it apart, decompile it, or try to extract its code or artwork, except where the law expressly allows it. Do not use it in any way that breaks the law or puts anyone at risk.
Kidiverse, its name, its artwork, its code and its design belong to Nexoma Labs LLC. You are given permission to use the app, not ownership of it. The open-source software Kidiverse is built with is listed, with its licences, at Open-source licences.
Where you got the app
If you downloaded Kidiverse from the App Store, Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps also applies. These terms are between you and Nexoma Labs LLC, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Kidiverse, and is not responsible for any claim relating to it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims — Nexoma Labs LLC is. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries.
If you downloaded Kidiverse from Google Play, Google Play’s terms of service also apply to your use of the store.
You may use Kidiverse only where the law allows it, and not in a country or by a person that is subject to a government embargo or restriction.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. A change that meaningfully affects how you may use Kidiverse, or what we are responsible for, will be said plainly rather than folded into a paragraph.
Continuing to use Kidiverse after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Ending use
You may stop using Kidiverse at any time by deleting it from your device. We may stop offering or supporting Kidiverse at any time.
